Dear CMS Families and Staff:

On behalf of the whole CMS community, I would like to begin this month by thanking Julie Alexander and her team of parents and volunteers for putting together a fabulous Trivia Night and Silent Auction. It was a wonderful event, organized impeccably, and staff, families, and supporters from the community had a great deal of fun. We deeply appreciate the long hours and effort that went into the event.

I also appreciate the staff that elected to provide needed childcare to allow our families the opportunity to attend the event. It was a great group of teachers at the school that evening, and I’m sure it was a fun time for the friends to spend the evening here in their jammies!

Next, I wanted to ensure CMS friends and families knew about some important May dates. First, May 2-6 is Teacher Appreciation Week. Expect more information on this in your parent files in the coming days. Next, we will be having a Teacher Work Day on Friday, May 6. There will be no school for the friends that day. On Saturday, May 7, we will have a Parent Work Day from 9-1 at CMS. It will be a great opportunity to fulfill some last-minute parent volunteer hours, and it’s always a nice opportunity to meet some other families and spend some time helping the school. Finally, there are two events on Friday, May 27. Our Graduation will take place at 6 p.m. that evening. In addition, we have our monthly restaurant fundraiser at Chevy’s that day. We hope everyone comes out to celebrate our new graduates and to support CMS.

Finally, we sent home slips to Primary families asking about their summer plans. If you have yet to return it, please do so as soon as possible. This information helps the school plan for summer staffing and schedules. If you need a new slip, please see someone in the office.
