Dear CMS Families and Staff:
As we move into February, I first wanted to take a moment to thank Shakespeare's Pizza for their generosity in hosting recent fundraising events. On a related note, I want to thank families, staff, and friends of the CMS community for supporting those efforts. We plan to use the proceeds for playground repairs, improvements, and new work. Really, I think I speak for everyone at this point when I say we are ready for Spring.
Next, I wanted to share a few upcoming dates of note. First, we will be closed for a Teacher Work Day on Friday, February 28. Next, we will host a Parent Work Day from 9-1 on Saturday, February 29. There will be several projects that will help ready our facility for our upcoming relicensing inspections.
Related to staffing, I wanted to congratulate Nicole Coffin, who was named Lead Teacher in P2. Nicole has been with CMS for 2 1/2 school years, serving as Assistant Lead in multiple primary classrooms before assuming this role. Feel free to swing by her classroom to say "Hi." While you're there, check out her bulletin board for some fabulous Australian slang, which relates to the current P2 unit on the lands "Down Under."
Finally, we recently closed school due to winter weather. If your family did not receive an email regarding our closures, it may mean we have an incorrect email address on file for you. Please update the office or your classroom Lead Teacher at your earliest convenience.
For the children,
Dan Johnson Head of School
