We would like to welcome some new friends to our classroom. Reese and Annika have joined our room. Please help us welcome their families to CMS.

Some reminders:

- Please bring tennis shoes for the playground! Crocs and flip-flops are fine for the classroom, but they can contribute to injuries outside.

- We know mornings can be a bit hectic and rough, but please try to ensure your child is at school by 9 a.m. As weather improves, we will be leaving the school many mornings to do activities, go on nature walks, walk to the library, and do our gardening work. We would like for as many friends to be able to participate in these activities as possible.

- When the weather is sunny, pleas apply sunscreen to your child BEFORE drop-off. We will reapply in the afternoon. If your child wears a sun hat, please be sure to leave one at school.

We are looking for a parent to donate chalkboard paint for our classroom door. Please see Lois or Marlene. Donations count towards parent hours. We have had a few donations for our new fish tank – Thank You! We are almost there, so please keep them coming!

We are extending our gardening/farm unit into May. We have planted okra, corn, cucumbers, pumpkins, dill, peas, squash, tomatoes, basil, and an assortment of flowers. Our next phase will involve moving the sprouted plants into the ground. Check out the seeds already sprouting in our classroom!

Warm weather field trips are coming up! Licensing is now requiring that all parent drivers have a background screening as would any school volunteer. It costs $10 (but it is good for 1 parenting hour, and you also earn parent hours for driving and chaperoning a trip). If you would like to be a driver and help with upcoming trips, please see Lois for the form to fill out.
