50 Years of Guiding Children
Founded and governed by parents in 1967, Columbia Montessori School has been guiding children for 50 years at the intersection of Anderson Avenue & West Broadway in Columbia, Missouri. We view education as a partnership between parents, children, and teachers.
As a non-profit organization, our focus is on children and their early development. Columbia Montessori School is a licensed child-care facility for children between the ages of 4 weeks and 6 years.
Hours of Operation
Columbia Montessori School is open to its students Monday through Friday from 7:15am to 5:45pm. A board approved calendar is provided to all parents at the beginning of each school year.
The school is open whenever possible during normal operating hours on a regularly scheduled day. The center is closed in recognition of various holidays throughout the year, and during unsafe weather conditions.
During the calendar year, three teacher in-service days are scheduled (only on Fridays). In-service days allow the staff and administration a time to clean, organize, participate in training opportunities, and hold staff meetings.
As outlined for enrolled families in the school's calendar, the school is closed for three teacher in-service days and the following holidays:
- New Year's Day
- Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- Memorial Day
- Fourth of July
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving (2 days: Thursday and Friday)
- Winter Holiday (usually 2 to 3 days, including December 25th)
